What personal data is collected and why:
Comments
When visitors leave comments, the data shown in the comments form is collected — name, email address, and any website URL provided — along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
Email addresses are never displayed publicly. An anonymized hash of each email may be sent to Gravatar to check whether a profile picture exists. If one does, that image will be shown next to the approved comment. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/
Cookies
If a comment is left, visitors may opt in to saving their name, email address, and website URL in cookies so that those details are pre-filled next time a comment is submitted. These cookies last for one year.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content such as videos or images from other websites. Embedded content behaves as if the visitor had visited that website directly — those sites may collect data, use cookies, and track interaction with the embedded content.
Third-party services
The Pinterest API is used to publish articles and images to this site’s Pinterest account. This integration runs entirely on the site owner’s behalf. Visitors are never asked to connect a Pinterest account, and no visitor data is collected, accessed, or transmitted to Pinterest.
Pinterest’s privacy policy is available here: https://policy.pinterest.com/en/privacy-policy
Gravatar
Profile pictures in the comments section may be served by Gravatar (Automattic, Inc.). Their privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/
How visitor data is handled
Visitor data is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
How long data is retained
Approved comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so that follow-up comments from the same visitor can be recognized and approved automatically rather than held in a moderation queue.
Visitor rights over personal data
Visitors who have left a comment may request an export of the personal data held about them, or request that it be deleted. This does not include data that is required to be kept for legal or security purposes. To make a request, contact: hello@lilywomb.com
